The Difference Between Reality And Fiction

What’s the difference between reality and fiction? Fiction has to make sense. — Tom Clancy.

After five novels I certainly know the truth of Clancy’s answer to the question. If one’s readers don’t believe your story can really happen, they won’t buy into the story.

The question of the day is why doesn’t reality make sense? With an all knowing God how come so many things in our life don’t make sense. It is similar to the question Job asked God, and if you are like me God’s answer leaves a lot to be desired. No I wasn’t around when God made the heavens and the earth so I don’t know all like God, but certain things just don’t make sense or seem right.

Maybe God made a few thing non-sensical so we would ponder questions like “Why do bad things happen to good people” or “Why can’t Congress get along?” It makes no sense.

Let me know what you think, but maybe the reason that so much of reality makes no sense if because we are supposed to try to get inside the head of God. We may never succeed, but we can learn a lot.
