Season of Hope

Advent season means a lot of things. It a season of anticipation culminating on the day Christ came into our lives. It’s a season of giving, generosity, and appreciation. For people of other faiths it also has significance and wonderful meanings. It is truly a season of holidays.

But for me and especially this Advent is a season of hope. Hope that the virus will dissipate, that the vaccine and science will prevent any more deaths or permanent injuries. Hope that our economy will return and people can return to work. But perhaps my greatest hope is that humankind will have learned from this tragedy.

I hope we have learned that we are all in this together, that we have learned to get along a little better, that we appreciate what others do for us every day, and we have learned that we need each other. These are just a few of my hopes, and why this Advent is the “season of hope.”
