Come Away and Rest

Jesus said to them, “Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.” — Mark 6:31.

Do you find time for yourself? In today’s passage, Jesus recognized that his disciples were so busy they hadn’t taken time off. The importance of rest, time to regroup, time to listen is no better exemplified than by God resting on the Sabbath. Jesus was constantly taking time to go up into the mountainside to rest and communicate with God.

I periodically make a to-do list. Seldom do I write down — rest, center, listen to God but I should. Today’s passage is a reminder.
