Open My Eyes

Open my eyes, that I may see the wonders of your law. — Psalm 119:18.

Often, our eyes are open but we don’t see. A friend needs help, but we wonder why he/she hasn’t called. A neighbor is sick, but we wonder why their lawn has gone to seed. Our spouse is irritable and one wonders why, rather than seeing the spouse is living in constant pain. The psalmist ask that his eyes be opened so he can see wonders. How often do we see the ugly and miss the beautiful.

I ask God for so much, but a small request to “Open my Eyes” seems okay.

  1. Hi, Webb, ol’ Scout buddy,I found in an old article that you live in Charlotte. So I looked you up and found a blog of meditations. I have prayed a lot for you over the years, and more since I read your book. Evidently you have been listening to the Lord. I am thankful you found good things from the Lord through your “adventures”. My “little” brother Jim will be glad to see these. He lives Durham and I now live in Burlington.
