The Long Haul

… you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness. — 2 Peter 1:5-6.

Peter sounds like my doctor or one of my old coaches. Just when I think I’ve mastered one thing, it’s on to the next. Life, especially a good life, is not a sprint or a one time occurrence. Peter reminds us that we are in this for the long haul, and there is more to a good life than simply being faithful. During your morning meditation and self-examination ask yourself, “What do I need to go further?” Staying in place is only going backward.
