Danny’s alphabetical Thanksgivings: Comeliness, which never can be marred. (Ezekiel 16:14)
Ezekiel 16:14: And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty; for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God.
Webster’s: Comeliness — the qualities in a person or thing that as a whole give pleasure to the senses <a verdant countryside of uncommon comeliness>
Comeliness is something more than physical beauty it is a quality of a person or place that brings pleasure. Danny in her alphabet gives thanks for a comeliness that “can never be marred.” Wisdom of age teaches that often the people we are most attracted to are not necessarily those with breathtaking physical beauty. We are attracted to a person’s spirit, their quality of being, and no physical scars or marring takes away from their “comeliness.”
As you meditate today concentrate on the qualities of spirit that attract you and cannot be marred. Thank God for the comeliness of others, and the comeliness inside each and every one of us.
