Old Clothes

Suzy threw out one of my favorite T-shirts yesterday. If she has her way a couple of old golf shirts will meet the same fate. Just when my clothes start to get comfortable, add a few holes, and get a little threadbare, she thinks they need a new home.
Friends are like clothes. New ones we wear for dress-up affairs, but when its time to relax we are more apt to choose clothes that have stood up to the test of time.
New friends like new clothes bring pleasure, but when we want someone who echoes our laughter and dries our tears, only an old friend will do. Old friends know our every weakness and fault we possess, but they somehow forget them all in friendship’s caress.
