A Plea for Patience and Peace

I will get back to prayer, service, and sacrifice, I promise. But please put up with me for a weekend at least. Does what is going on in the Middle East seem like a video game? Drones attacking buildings, missiles and rockets being fired, and targeting individuals and “bad guys.” I wonder how we will feel when drones and missiles fill our skies and the neighborhood girls school is bombed?

Does anybody believe we only had a few days before Iran had ICBM’s or nuclear weapons? Just because we have the biggest, baddest military in the world, does that mean whatever we want in a negotiation, we get. Sounds like to me we were negotiating like a bully, and just because we have all the cards doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be patient. I know a little bit about this kind of negotiation the hard way. Despite holding all the cards, you are patient, and then more patient. Remind me to tell you one day about a story about a farmer who walked his hog every day.

My prayers are even stronger today in hopes that our lack of patience doesn’t lead to a long lasting conflict or future terror in retaliation. Godspeed Peace!
