Make This World Worth Of Its Children

Make this world worthy of its children. — Pablo Casals.

Refreshed from the beach and a great book event, I lead with the words of Pablo Casals. I thought of this quote when we had dinner last night with my grandkids after Suzy and I returned to Charlotte. They are so full of energy and enthusiasm for life and so I found myself asking, “How can we take away their future for our benefit? Don’t they deserve at least a clean slate including a country with no debt, a world at peace, and leadership that care more about the children than themselves?”

Contrary to what you might think this is not about politics it’s about God’s directive in early Genesis that we humans are to be stewards of the planet and its inhabitants.

Maybe we can all become better stewards if we wake up every Monday morning asking ourselves, “How do I make this world worth its children/”
