Star Gazing

I promise everyone, I’ll leave you alone about silence after today. But as you know I’m a big advocate of waiting in silence.

Here’s a thought for the weekend. When you truly find yourself waiting in silence think about — what are you waiting for? Realize that you are waiting and inviting in the greatest power in the world – the all knowing God. Realize the absolute miracle and majesty of the moment and the opportunity. I have just spent the last week here in Charlotte with thousands of people pushing, shoving, and clamoring to get to meet, shake the hand, or just catch the glimpse of famous politicians, movie stars, celebrities – much less the President.

Instead in the quiet of a room, on a walk in the park, or during a quiet moment on a city bus, each one of us has the ability to be in the presence of God. Imagine the reality of this opportunity. So that is why I say — be still in the truest and deepest sense of the world, and feel his power and love. It surrounds you in the deepest sense of the word whenever you simply invite him in.
