Will

If idle hands are the devil’s workshop, then how come folded hands that may seem idle are a sign of obedience to God?

It is not doing the heavy lifting of tasks or constantly denying ourselves of worldly pleasure that advances us on our spiritual journey. It is the yielding of our wills, without restriction or choice, to tread cheerfully along the path that Providence leads us. We travel in high spirits seeking nothing, discouraged by nothing, seeing only our duty in the present moment, and trusting, without reserve, in the will of God.
