My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words…….guard your heart, for its the wellspring of your life. — Proverbs 4: 20-23
If the above were to be written today probably the only way it would get across to one’s children or grandchildren would be by texting it to them. Sitting down at the table or a even a phone conversation with a teenager is a lost art.
We want so much for our children and grandchildren. We want them to avoid the same mistakes we made at their ages. But experience tells us that no many sincere words we put forth, our children and grandchildren we will find new pitfalls we never dreamed existed.
Thus we can only hope that they “guard their hearts.”
