There is a distinct difference between being righteous and being self-righteous. Being righteous is a willingness to submit and subordinate our will, our needs, our concerns to God’s will. Being self-righteous is the polar opposite.
As an aside I found another suggestion to “walk.” Remember the garden of Eden. I wonder if I should take a hint?
