Ash Wednesday is in two days. The Lenten season has snuck up on all of us, especially Carolina Panthers’ fans who are going to have difficulty diving into fasting, prayer, and meditation. They say, “Haven’t we suffered enough?” Nevertheless, Lent waits for no one. It is here. So get out that griddle for pancakes, Shrove Tuesday is tomorrow.
The Hubbell Pew had its origin as a Lenten discipline twelve years ago, and over 1450 Posts later it will be here to guide you along your Lenten journey.
Today’s post as always is found at thehubbellpew.com:
“No individual or group can block another individual’s path or change it against what fits his nature and his purpose. It might be done for a time, but in the end it won’t work out.” — Rolling Thunder.
We are each born with a purpose. We may not know what it is, especially when we are young, and our purpose often seems contrary to our desires. Often, we must experience lots of missteps and hard times before our purpose becomes clear. Sometimes others try to choose our purpose for us. When that happens their choice often is because it is what makes them happy. When we live outside our purpose, our life is full of obstacles, but when we live inside our purpose, our path is smooth. When we are aligned to our purpose, we become content and at peace.
Lent is the perfect time to engage God in a conversation about our purpose. He is waiting on your call.
