Prayer

For the most part, whatever your faith, you pray. You might pray in different ways, certainly in different languages, and even when you lose your faith, from time to time, you return to prayer. Thousands of books have been written about prayer. I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t out there a book called Prayer For Dummies.

In this modern age, our ways of communication, are rapidly changing. Witness a set of teenagers texting each other while they sit across from each other at a table. No, I’m not suggesting we text God, although if it floats your boat, who am I to say it won’t work.

What I might suggest however is that since we all pray, we spend some time and come together looking for ways to formulate a universal expression of prayer that gives voice to all of humanity’s yearning for peace, freedom, and social justice.

Just a thought to mull over the weekend.
