Do Not Be Afraid

Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid.” — Matthew 28:10

Have you ever considered what would happen if Jesus showed up at your door. What would he say? What would you say?
I am pretty sure I would say something stupid, something I would wish I could take back immediately.
As to what he would say there is a good chance he would say, and I would want to hear the following: “Do not be afraid.”
When life’s struggle becomes overwhelming, we are drawn to fear, never to trust.
Whether our struggle is with disease, enemies, or our own failures, it is hard to believe that we should “fear not.”
Despite Christ’s words our fears can consume our day — fear of being wrong, the fear we will not live up to our potential or dreams, and the fear we will fail and our dreams will come to nothing.
The good news is that Christ is at our door this very day, this very morning, and if we will only hear his words and trust him we can start again.
Yes, start again in a life based on hope and love, never again because we are afraid.
