Books and Stories

“A book must be the axe for the frozen sea inside us.” — Kafka.

“Books and stories are medicine, plaster casts for broken lives and hearts, slings for weakened spirits.” — Anne Lamott.

Football season is over, and until the Razorbacks return to the glory of the Nolan Richardson days it is time to concentrate on books, reading and writing them. When I am on book tour, I meet so many people who want to write a book, and I encourage them all, because I believe each and every one of us has at least one great book inside us, if not more. Kafka may have been writing about reading books, but his analogy is most apt for those write books as well.

Lent is approaching, why not consider writing your story during Lent.
