Walk With Nature

In every walk with Nature one receives far more than he seeks.  John Muir, Steep Trails.

Muir speaks of nature, but isn’t what he says have a broader application? Many times what we seek is secondary to the seeking. Men and women work hard to obtain wealth, but in the end it’s the work not the wealth that brings satisfaction. The path to the waterfall is often more fun and full of more adventure than the ultimate destination. Win or lose, playing the game is what its all about, for if you don’t enjoy playing, no outcome is quite worth it. Contrary to what some advise, take your eyes off the prize and keep your eyes fixed on the journey itself.
