Amongst the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we sometimes forget that we are in the middle of a celebration. A great event occurred a long time ago. Don’t forget to sing, to greet friends, family, and neighbors with love. Be festive.
Our family has an extra reason to celebrate this year. Our daughter, Kelley, had her first child — Margaret. It is amazing how the whole clan of siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles, have latched on to this beautiful child. We can’t get enough of the pictures of her, and to hold her in one’s arms is indescribable in its magnificence. I could go on and on.
Thus my family have a good idea what it must have been like for Mary and Joseph. The difficulties of travel and accomodations were washed away at the sight of the newborn Jesus. Let’s not allow that magical moment of birth be forgotten for what it was and continues to be — a miracle.
God came into our lives in much the same way that Margaret came into our family last month. It is cause to celebrate. It is cause to shout Hallelujiah!
Even cousins far away are saying Hallelujah too!
