When I went law school, we had only one test at the end of the semester. One’s grade and whether you stayed in school depended on how you did. In life there are more than one tests and some are more important than others, but one thing is for sure — we will be tested.
Life’s tests are different than school in many different ways. For one, we are never quite sure about the subject. We may spend months, years, being prepared for take a test on financial responsibility, when one morning we wake up to a major exam about our health. At times the test may come from left field on a subject we never studied or practiced.
The good thing is that God is not some evil proctor, and there is no failing, consequences yes, but no way God kicks you out of school. Testing is a good way of learning.
Life will put us all to the test, but failing is not an option.
Thanks once again, Webb, for your thoughtful and thought provoking posts! Today’s post is particularly timely for Casey and me… it comes on our 38th anniversary. We are celebrating our love in the heart of Oregon wine country, doing hikes, and celebrating this life together we’ve created and the abundant blessings and joys of family and friends (like you and Suzy!).
