Whoever does the will of God is my brother, sister, and mother. — Mark 3:35.
One of the fun things about a daily scripture is occasionally you run across a passage you never ran across or remember. Today’s surprised me.
I am guilty of often referring to God in the masculine or calling God — father, but here’s Jesus telling us that whoever does the will of God is also his mother as well as his brother and sister.
This passage was worthy of a full scale meditation this morning. Does this change my thinking? What does Jesus mean when he says, “do the will of God?” I’d love to hear Luis give a sermon on this passage.
Before I offer some thoughts,, I suggest each of my readers take this one to a quiet place. What do you think?
