Be What We Do

Rumi’s timeless verse, “Let the beauty we love be what we do,” continues to resonate with seekers of meaning and purpose. This poetic invitation invites us to align our actions with our passions, to find joy and fulfillment in the pursuit of what truly inspires.

My personal connection to Rumi began through my friendship with Tom, who was immersed in the study of Sufi philosophy. Our correspondence, “Letters to my Sufi friend,” provided a platform for exploring Rumi’s insights. One particular quote, “Let the beauty we love be what we do,” captivated me. As Tom and Casey prepare for their visit, I anticipate revisiting these lines and sharing their wisdom.

While many of us harbor dreams of pursuing our passions, life’s complexities often intervene. Financial constraints, obligations, and uncertainty about our true desires can derail our aspirations. Rumi offers a simple yet profound solution: seek out what we love, and then let it guide our actions.

Life is filled with distractions, and it’s easy to lose sight of our goals. However, by periodically refocusing on what truly inspires us, we can stay on the path that God has intended. Rumi’s message serves as a powerful reminder that our greatest fulfillment lies in aligning our actions with our passions.

As I prepare to welcome Tom and Casey, I am eager to delve deeper into Rumi’s poetry and share its transformative wisdom. May we all be inspired to embrace our passions and let the beauty we love guide our lives.
