The Hubbell Pew! Twenty years online – that’s practically ancient in internet years! We’ve been like that comfy, slightly dusty armchair in the corner of the web, always there, especially when folks are giving up chocolate and trying to be better humans during Lent.
And boy, oh boy, this year the digital mailbag overflowed with your thoughts and comments. It’s been more rewarding than finding an unexpected twenty in an old coat pocket!
Now, about this “subscription service” idea which several of you have proposed. I appreciate the concept and understand why so many are doing so, but to me it’s like suggesting that we put up a velvet rope and charge admission to go to church. Not going to happen. Next thing you know, we’d be selling Hubbell Pew Coffee Mugs and launching our own cryptocurrency, “PewCoin”!
Seriously though, your generosity over the years with those kind contributions has been the digital equivalent of finding spare change under that aforementioned armchair’s cushion – just enough to keep the lights on and the virtual coffee brewing. We’ve managed to keep the Pew free all this time, and we’re going to keep it that way! In a world where everything seems to have a paywall, The Hubbell Pew shall remain a beacon of free thought (and hopefully mild amusement). Consider it our small act of rebellion against the tyranny of the subscription box!
So, thank you for joining our Lenten journey. We truly appreciate you making us a part of your online lives, and we hope you’ll stick around. May your days be filled with blessings, and may your internet connection always be strong!
