How often have you heard or said, “I may forgive, but I will never forget.” I try my best not to judge others when they say this, but when I find myself saying or thinking these words I need to work on my definition of forgiveness. Often it is that one thing that I can’t ‘forget’ about an individual or an event that is the very thing that I should let go and must. Perhaps, for me, when I can’t let go, when I can’t quite get there, and when I’ve gone as far as I can go, I need to pull myself up by my bootstraps, and simply “forget.”
