I apologize for being missing in action. I’ve been in Atlanta attending the funeral of one of the classiest women I’ve ever known. She was my Aunt, Dorothy Fendler, who had been as supportive and loving to me and my family for the last twenty years as my own mother would have been had she lived.
Today is also the second anniversary of my transplant surgery. I’d be remiss if I didn’t aknowledge the miracle that occurred that day. Thank you doctors, nurses, and especially “George” and his family. As Suzy said as I returned from the gym this morning. “You look a hell of a lot better than you did two years ago.”
Celebrating today reminds me that any day of life, any moment of time, may be the starting point of success. Today I “rejoice as a strong man to run the race.” “And should the twilight darken into night, and anquish turn to sorrow, I will be strong — I am in God, and nothing can go wrong which a fresh life-pulse can’t set aright: — that thou dost know the darkness proves the light.”
Take this from one who experienced a true “life-pulse” two years ago today.
