Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” — Acts 2:37.
Lent is over, Easter Sunday is past, and now we ask, “What do we do?” If we aren’t careful, we will spend a lot of time on the question, and ultimately very little time on the answer. It is very easy to congratulate ourselves on our Lenten discipline and go back to “the way things were.” We will “return to normal” as we hear so often these days.
But we are not the same people we were before Ash Wednesday, just like we aren’t the same people pre-covid. The world is different, and so are we. So what should we do? God has the answer, and if we only will listen and follow the Holy Spirit, we will take flight. When we emerge from the dark it takes a few moments to adjust to the light. Easter week is that period of adjustment. Soon God will answer your question — “What Should We Do?”
