God’s Counsel

I bless the Lord who gives me counsel – Psalms 16:7

Nothing is too small or too great in God’s sight, so it should be with us. If God calls us to do a small or trifling matter and we judge it to be beneath our station or not important enough, we are closing our ears and mind to the best teacher we could ever have. We have no right to measure a call’s importance. The same goes for the negative, something I frequently forget. If he calls me to not do something or stop doing something however important I think it is, it isn’t.

When God counsels us in a certain way, we know not what we might be losing by doing something we deem unimportant or giving up something we consider essential.  Give yourself to his counsel, trust him, listen to him, and then go forward bravely and cheerfully.
