Last week I wrote a little bit about feeling valued. It must have struck a nerve because I heard from several people about the post.
If we listen to the news one would think we have come out of the economic crisis of 2007-2008, but we also hear that the recovery is limited mostly to those who needed it the least. For many, they are still living in an unstable and uncertain world, feeling devalued, uncared for, unworthy, and even abandoned.
At times we feel the same emotions about about our spiritual well being. That is why the Lenten season is so important. During this time we make the needed repairs in our relationship with God, whatever our faith. We remember that our relationship is built on a solid foundation that can withstand any crisis or storm. That foundation is the unconditional love God has for each and every one of us, and he constantly reminds us that we are precious in his sight — worth more than the riches of Asgard. We are constantly reminded that we are of infinite value to God and that God will never abandon us.
