But the aim of such instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith. — 1 Timothy 1:5.
Not a bad goal — to have a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith. Heck, I’d love to be taught by someone who meets those standards. The more I think about it, I have been taught by teachers, ministers, and regular ordinary folks who live every day with a pure heart, good conscience, and have sincere faith. What else can come from such attributes but love?
From a child’s first day, a parent pours out love to his or her child. We all hope that our children will value love with every ounce of their body. If we live and seek to attain the three attributes St. Paul writes about, love will naturally follow to our children and all we teach.
