Measurement

Don’t measure your life with someone else’s ruler. — Charles Glassman.

The greatest killer of happiness is comparison. If you must compare, compare yourself to you yesterday. — attributed to Mark Twain.

Reader’s of the Pew know I love verses, quotes, or phrases. The above are two of my favorites and are good food for thought on a Monday. There is constant chatter in Sports about who is the greatest at this sport or another, and inevitably the discussion comes down statistics as measuring sticks. Statistics are a poor measurement of a man or woman’s life.

Twain’s suggestion is a good start.
