As we get older it seems that our worries become bigger and more worrisome. I used to worry about whether that cute blonde Theta named Suzy would go out with me on a date. Today’s worries involve gun violence, wars, and world hunger. I need Jesus’s words about worrying.
Jesus doesn’t tell us not to worry or that our worries aren’t legitimate, but he does intimate that our worries shouldn’t preoccupy or consume us. When our focus is on our relationship with God and not worldly matters our worries will take care of themselves.
