You could be standing next to someone who is trying their best not to fall apart. So whatever you do today, do it with kindness in your heart. — Anon.
When we think of someone on the verge of “falling apart,” our minds often go to highly visible crises—families separated, or people in dire public situations.
But the truth is, many people are silently struggling. The person standing beside you could have just received a life-altering diagnosis or experienced a sudden job loss. On the surface, they might appear perfectly composed, yet inside, they’re battling to prevent their world from crumbling.
We rarely have insight into the private burdens others carry. This is precisely why kindness is so essential. A simple act of kindness can be the crucial support that helps someone endure their personal storm, or the very catalyst for positive change in their life. I know this firsthand; in my own darkest moments, it was the kindness, both big and small, shown to me that gave me the strength to carry on. I remember every single instance.
Acting with kindness is arguably one of the easiest things we can do. Yet, its capacity to uplift, sustain, and even save lives is a gift from God.
