He who for himself or others craves not for sons or power or wealth, who puts not his own success before the success of righteousness, he is virtuous, and righteous and wise. – Buddha
One might ask who am I to suggest Buddha needs a little humility here, and he/she would be right. But, nevertheless I might suggest anytime we think we are virtuous, righteous, and wise we need a little sic transit gloria.
Not that his basic premise is wrong except for the “sons” part. He needs to be a little more PC, saith the father of three daughters, and four granddaughters.
I might also suggest that wealth and power are never measures of true success. Success is measured by the size of one’s heart and in our service to others and justice.
One person’s opinion, more importantly, what do you think?
