A Time To Mourn

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance — Eccl. 3:4

weep with those who weep. — Romans 12:15
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. — James 4:9

Lay all other emotions and thoughts aside. Mourn with those who mourn, weep with those who weep in Dallas, Baton Rouge, and Minnesota. Now is not the time for politics, hatred, judgment, or finger-pointing. As the biblical passage and song remind us — for everything there is a season, but now is not the time or season.

We cannot heal without a period of mourning, and those who wish to draw us out of mourning into their own emotions or agendas do the us no favors until the time for tears has passed.

Rest in God today, my friends.
