Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves. ~~ Carl Jung
Even those people who support Donald Trump I assume, at times, are irritated at his behavior. (I have to assume, I don’t know any.) I also use him as an example because everyone can relate, and after all he put himself out there for the world to take verbal shots at him.
Politicians shouldn’t be thin-skinned; they know when they run in these times that potshots are part of the process, but I diverge.
Jung hits it on the head. When we find certain conduct or statements irritating it is a learning experience with the right attitude. If Donald says something off the wall, shouldn’t we be careful to not follow suit. If he tells a huge whopper, exaggeration or untruths should not be our response.
Christ reminded us a long time a go to judge not, less we be judged. Trump may put me to the test, but a better approach is use his behavior as a window into myself.
Thank you Donald for teaching me so much.
