Self-Honesty

During the quiet ending of my Yoga session my mind wandered to several old mistakes I made, and I began to beat myself up all over again.
It happens from time to time, so I pulled out an old tool — Self-honesty.
Honesty is at the backbone of any program that pulls you out of the ditch, whether it be a recovery program or a program for self-forgiveness.
Mistakes are made all too often, don’t sugarcoat them, but realize they are all in the past.
Recognize that the walls once built around a secret life build a prison, and it is the pick ax of self-honesty that tears down those same walls and sets us free.
Self-honesty is one of the greatest gifts we can give to ourselves.  We can’t hide from God or ourselves, so why try.
