Who Are You?

Then they said to him, “Who are you?” — John1:22.

Sadly, I attended a memorial service this Monday for a dear friend. He was ninety-two years old and led a full, wonderful, and complete life. The speakers at his memorial told stories about his career, his love for wife, family, and friends, his love for baseball, barbecue, and music. I think he would have enjoyed the attempts to answer the question, “Who are you.”

The question “Who are you?” is one we should repeatedly and often ask ourselves, and if we don’t like the answer do something about it. The question is not about your past or future, but one about the present. Who are you today is the critical inquiry.

Who are you?
