Attachments That Stick Like Glue

Attachment is the mind stuck to an object. — Lama Zopa Rinpoche, The Door to Satisfaction

The Lenten Season is the perfect time to lose attachments to objects, whether it be the object that is the subject of our fast or an attachment that inhibits our service to a neighbor.

I would also suggest to the Lama that our minds also get stuck to things that are equally as destructive. Resentments, jealousy, and long held grudges can stick just like Gorilla Glue.

Lent is a time to get out the turpentine and loosen the hold that objects and self-destructive attachments have on our mind and heart.

Free from attachments we are free to travel the path God has chosen for us, and to do so with a much lighter load.
