Earth Hath No Sorrows

Earth hath no sorrows that earth cannot heal, or heaven cannot heal, for the earth as seen in the clean wilds of the mountains is about as divine as anything the heart of man can conceive!  — John Muir.

Suzy and I traveled to the North Carolina mountains last week with dear friends. We just needed to get away for a day or two. As we traveled the Blue Ridge, I couldn’t help but think about Muir and the wisdom of our forefathers to preserve the natural forests we were enjoying. I also marveled at God’s creation, and the beauty of the changing leaves that highlights the fall season.

I pray that our leaders will continue to preserve into eternity this “divine” splendor that also keeps this planet alive. If we don’t then “Earth will have sorrows” that cannot be healed.
