Who/What Magnifies Your Spirit

When I came across the question “What magnifies your spirit?” I thought for a second I must be in church, but of course I wasn’t. The truth being is my spirit can be magnified just about anywhere and by anyone. I run across a phrase in a book or poem, I listen to a rousing sermon like the one’s Luis Leon used to give most every Sunday, or when the spring comes and I crack my window I hear the birdsong and my spirits are lifted.

I read recently that we should seek out the books, ideas, and people that magnify your spirit not only as a remedy for depression and boredom, but also to keep in storage when our own magnificence is running low.

I try to notice things and people who raise my spirits, but perhaps I should consider being the type of person who magnifies someone else’s spirit. The thought is worth of a morning’s meditation don’t you think? Webb.

  1. Holy Spirit (once I realized what it really was) always lifts me up. It is in everyone, everything–just have to be receptive to its gace and power.
    Thanks for the reminder.
