Above all. Do not lose your desire to walk. Every day I walk myself into a state of well being and walk away from every illness; I have walked myself into my best thoughts and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it. — Soren Kierkegaard.
Our friend, Bonnie Smith Whitehouse, has written a journal for mindful walking called, Afoot and LightHearted. The quote above comes from her journal and strikes home for me.
Despite having terrible knees I still love my walks, especially in the small park that is within a block of our home. Y’all also know that I believe a beach walk is the best therapy known to man or woman.
Sometimes we also confront a situation at our work, our home, or other places where we know that the confrontation is likely to escalate. These are also the times where the best course is simply to walk away.
As we consider joining up with the army of passionate souls, we are held back by ties to comfortable, the easy. These too are times that we must “walk away.”
What is it in your life that your heart and soul says to you, “It’s time to walk away.”
Beautiful, Webb! Sending you peace and love on your walks.
Thank you Bonnie. Your journal is giving me wonderful inspiration. All my best. W.
