Fragility Of Spirit

We may think we are tough and invulnerable but in reality we are all fragile. At some point in life, our body teaches us how vulnerable we are to disease and injury. Likewise we learn how our heart is fragile. A first romance ends, a good fiend betrays, a mentor dies, I bet you can think of at least a hundred heartbreaks each of us experience during a lifetime.

Knowing how vulnerable both our body and heart are should tell us how fragile our spirit is. Doubt, lost hope, crisis of faith, and many more attacks on the spirit are part of life. I am leery of anyone who says he or she hasn’t experienced a challenge to his/her spirit. God knows and understands how fragile our soul is but recognizes that it is the challenges that make our faith and spirit stronger.

It is hard to welcome the challenges life throws at our body, heart, and spirit, but it is those very tests  that will give us strength to endure.

  1. Are you saying that God presents us with these challenges, or that He uses them to shape us when they do occur?
