After you’ve stocked up on toilet paper, soap, Campbell Soup, and plenty of wine, take a deep breath and talk to God. Ask him/her the questions you’ve always wanted to ask and listen quietly for the answers. They may not all come at once, but in the silence you’d be surprised what you hear.
I woke up this morning wondering if the whole world had gone crazy, but in the silence I heard a different message. My kids have been messaging each other saying that they love each other this morning. Yes, there is a little fear in those messages, but there is also an understanding that things may change for a while, but not all for the bad. Perhaps we will worry a little bit about the neighbor next door who is all alone. Maybe, we will decide that our work will still be there when we return, maybe our children will learn new things as they study at home instead of a classroom.
Fear can be a great teacher if we are open to its lessons. Take sometime over the next few days to ask God about the lessons we should be learning.
