With Less Fear, And More Love

Here is a portion of a prayer I received today from Bishop Robinson at Chautauqua:

“Be with us, Divine One, in this time of anxiety,
Comfort those who are infected, soothe all of us who are affected, Strengthen and protect the medical caregivers,
Embolden our leaders with strength and wisdom,
Give us holy permission to do what is best in each moment, even if that’s “hunker down.”
Renew our hope for a world — With less anxiety and more joy,
With less “me first,” and more “no, please, after you!” With less fear, and more love.”

During each day filled with bad news I see moments and acts of generosity, kindness, and goodwill toward one’s neighbors. Perhaps, we will look back on these times as when we finally “got it.” We learned we are all in this world together, that family and friends are more important than anything, and each one of us has value.

While you use these moments “hunkered down” to meditate and pray, focus on all the good that is happening in the world right now. It will make you feel better and the world a better place to be.
