Interdependence is and ought to be as much the ideal of man as self-sufficiency. — Gandhi.
If any thing has been true in the last few weeks is that we are all dependent on each other. Even a lot of our depression is caused by our lack of social contact with each other. Jesus spent a lot of time teaching his disciples on the importance of caring for one’s neighbors, teaching them that all God’s children are our neighbors and that we should love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves.
We are social beings and the coronavirus is teaching us how important social interaction is. Make it a point while you are staying at home to find ways to reach out to your family and neighbors. When we used to have such things as long distance telephone calls the phone company had a slogan — “Reach Out And Touch Someone.” Now when we are living through where touching is not safe, find different ways to make contact and virtual hugs.
Nice post today!!
Thank you so much Ellen.
