The Blame Game

In the words of Obi Wan, there has been a giant disturbance in the force. In the U.S. alone close to 100,000 people have died from the virus and the end is nowhere near in sight. It is human nature and certainly in the nature of politics to blame someone. Many are pointing their fingers toward someone and away from themselves.

I look at things differently. Yes, a lot of things could have been done differently and perhaps the results would have been different, but no single country or person is responsible for the spread of this invisible bug. Our fingers should be hard at work learning how to stop the spread and learning from mistakes, not pointing them at others.

Now is not the time for blame. Now is the time for comfort, healing, caring, and nurturing our loved ones and our neighbors. I learned in sports long ago that blaming a tragic loss on referees, a coach, a missed block, or a mistake is for losers. To be winners we learn most from loss and go about fixing the problem, not blaming someone or group for our personal advantage.
