Whether you believe the story of Adam and Eve is true or not, or some version of God’s fall from grace in other faiths, one has to admit what was lost was intimacy with God. God walking with us in the cool of the evening.
I think within each of us, perhaps in our DNA, is a burning desire to return to such a relationship with God.
Almost all faiths talk about getting closer to God whether by performing service, prayer, or faith. Think of it being a last smoldering ember. Blow on it, fan it, feed it, but each of us needs to make sure that the ember never is extinguished.
