What Is the Truth?

Besides being a sucker for sappy movies and TV shows, Suzy will tell you I am a sucker for biblical movies and TV shows, so yes I have been recording and watching A.D. on NBC.

Highlighted in the first two shows is Pilate asking this question, “What is the truth.”
Good question Pilate, and good question for us all.
Pilate’s question comes after he has asked Jesus if he is a king, and Jesus replies, “ You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”
This dialogue is perhaps much more important than we realize, including those who practice other faiths. For Pilate and Jesus are speaking two languages. Pilate is speaking of the language of men, but Jesus is speaking the language God. Pilate wants to know if Jesus is a worldly King. Jesus is speaking a language that is not of this world.
Whatever your faith, we should spend a little time trying to discern the difference. Is it the truth of men we seek or the truth of God. “What is the Truth?
