Season of Prayer

Suzy commented yesterday that if God were going to intervene, now would be a good time. Her words reminded me that Lent is a season of prayer, and that I needed to up my prayer time. There must be a thousand ways to pray. Some of my favorites are “centering prayer,” opening the bible and reading a random verse or two and that will lead you into prayer, and the good old fashioned way of sitting off in the quiet and saying to God, “let’s chat!”

I don’t expect any immediate action with my prayers, but it is comforting to know at least somebody is listening. Did it ever occur to you that God is separating in place and could use a little company right now just like we do.

Suzy and I committed last night to reach out more to our friends and check in. That’s what friends do in times of crisis. Let’s not forget during this Lenten season to check in with God now and then. Everyone stay safe, healthy, and check in every once in a while. Webb.
