When All Else Fails, Be Kind

I apologize for being so negative lately. I forgot my adage, “When all else fails, be kind.” It is difficult when faced with stupidity, ugliness, and arrogance to remember this adage, but it is even more important to do so.

Sometimes kindness is easy, but every once in a while, kindness takes some effort. When faced with a bully or a thug who is in your face, kindness takes every ounce of effort we have.

Next time after you’ve tried reason, logic, and your best attempt at persuasion, and they all fail, be kind. It may go against your nature, it does mine, but kindness is the better angel.

  1. From my other favorite author, Louise Penny……..From”A Better Man”

    Is it true?
    Is it kind?
Does it need to be said?

I have tried to remember this in my daily life. Sometimes successful, sometimes not so much. I just keep trying.
